The Step-Up Apprenticeship Initiative of the Housing Authority of the City of Fort Lauderdale (HACFL) has teamed up with All American Windows and Doors to add window installation to the many skills it teaches its apprentices. Given HACFL’s current focus on transitioning homes to include impact windows and doors, both for hurricane preparedness and energy conservation, it is imperative that these young apprentices are trained to install windows effectively. In addition, adding this skill set will make these young apprentices more marketable allowing participants to be competitive in today’s difficult job environment.
